4-8Productions began as a humble YouTube channel dedicated to bettering people’s lives through video games. As Mike (screen name death_unites_us) went through school, he explored many different avenues of content and began to create a loving community of gamers. After graduating college, Mike started his own business and continued 4-8Productions as a hobby.
Struggling to find true meaning in his business, Mike turned to 4-8Productions as a source of friendship and support. The community rallied together and began to fund 4-8Productions as a real show. In response, Mike quit his business and began to pursue 4-8Productions as his career. The community continued to support, and now Mike has been creating content for over 10 years and professionally for 3 years.
Because 4-8Productions was a hobby turned into a career, Mike has a much different approach than most content creators. Almost the entirety of 4-8Productions is funded directly by the fans, which gives Mike a better incentive to make good content rather than just make content that sells. 4-8Productions has also raised thousands of dollars for charity over the past few years, a tradition that Mike intends on keeping moving forward. 4-8Productions features deeply edited and produced videos as well as a weekly live show, but the vast majority of content is focused on keeping a healthy and positive community.
Today, Mike focuses on challenging himself, pushing himself to new limits every day, and doing his best to support his community in any way he can. He focuses primarily on the game that he is known for, Final Fantasy VII, but always pushes himself to do things that he doesn’t think he is capable of doing. It is important to him that he always pushes himself further so that he can prove to his community that they can do anything if they put in enough effort and believe in themselves.
